Who we are

Frugl publishes general information at getfrugal.io. For privacy requests, email hello@getfrugal.io.

Owner to fill in: the legal name of the publisher, any company number, and a postal address. Replace this note before you treat the policy as final. The contact email above is the address already published on the site. Confirm it is the right privacy inbox, or replace it.

What we collect

If you join Frugl Finds or another email form, we collect:

• your email address
• where you signed up (the page and the form source)
• the referring site, if your browser sends one
• campaign tags such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign
• a basic user agent string

If you join the Frugl Mobile waitlist, we also collect the answers you choose, such as current provider, a spend band, data use and what you would switch for.

If you use the site, we may store anonymous page views, button clicks and affiliate clickouts. That can include the page path, campaign tags, a short-lived anonymous visit id, and a hashed IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in our own tracking.

We do not ask for account numbers, passwords, or details you would use to apply for a financial product. Quotes and applications happen on the provider's own site.

Why we use it, and the lawful basis

Newsletter (consent). Frugl Finds is a weekly email of UK money-saving offers and the key terms. We only send it if you give your email and, when our email tool is connected, confirm from your inbox. The lawful basis is consent under UK GDPR, and your consent is also how we meet PECR for that email. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

Waitlist (consent). If you join a product waitlist, we use your details to tell you about that waitlist. You can ask us to stop.

Running the site (legitimate interests). We use basic analytics and click records to see which guides and offers are used, to keep the site secure, and to understand affiliate performance. That interest is running a free publisher site. It is not used to make a decision about your finances.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter and waitlist details while you remain signed up. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, we remove them from the active list. We may keep a short record that we acted on the request, so we can show that later.

Owner to confirm: the retention period for that suppression or request record (this draft does not fix a number of months), and how long anonymous analytics and affiliate click rows are kept.

Processors

We use these companies to run Frugl. They process information for us:

• Supabase, which stores email signups, waitlist rows, affiliate clicks and site events.
• Beehiiv, which sends Frugl Finds when it is connected. If it is not connected, signups stay in Supabase only.
• Vercel, which hosts the website and may process request logs.
• PostHog, which receives product analytics only when a PostHog key is switched on. The site is set up to use PostHog's EU host and memory storage, rather than a tracking cookie, when that key is present.

If you follow an affiliate or referral link, the provider or affiliate network (such as Awin, or the bank or app you open) becomes responsible for what happens on their site. Their privacy notice applies from that point.

International transfers

Supabase, Beehiiv, Vercel and PostHog may process personal information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, UK GDPR requires a transfer safeguard such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the provider's UK terms, or another lawful route.

Owner to fill in: the transfer safeguard you actually rely on for each processor. Do not leave this as a general statement once you have checked their terms.

Cookies

The public site does not need an account cookie. Admin sign-in uses a private, httpOnly session cookie that is not set for ordinary visitors. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies after you leave Frugl. You can control cookies in your browser.

Your rights

If UK data protection law applies, you can ask us to:

• access the personal information we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• restrict how we use it
• object to use based on legitimate interests
• receive a copy in a portable form, where that right applies

You can withdraw newsletter or waitlist consent at any time. That does not affect the lawfulness of sending that happened before you withdrew it. Email hello@getfrugal.io or use the unsubscribe link in a Frugl Finds email.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would like the chance to put things right first.
